Work in progress
Itzamná
Mexico's public data, ready for AI.
Itzamná is an open-source project so that any AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or a local one) can query Mexico's official information and answer citing the source, instead of making numbers up.
01The idea
Ask an AI model for the peso exchange rate, September's inflation or how many businesses are in your neighborhood: it will answer confidently, even if the figure is stale or invented. Models have no access to Mexico's official sources, and that gap matters to companies, accountants, journalists and anyone making decisions with data.
The answer isn't training a new model, it's giving them tools. Each Itzamná MCP server connects AI to an official source (Banxico, INEGI, SAT…) and returns the figure with its series, cut-off date and origin, so anyone can verify it.
02How it works

Why Itzamná
Itzamná was the Maya god of wisdom; tradition says he invented writing and the calendar, the way to keep a record of what is known. The logo is a stepped fret, the xicalcoliuhqui, found on temples all over Mexico.
05Where it's going
MCP servers
One for each major public data source in Mexico.
The Itzamná agent
An assistant that works with any model and always checks the official source.
An open model
Later, a model fine-tuned to use these tools, published on Hugging Face.
